There are several Indian tribes trying to build casinos or convert card rooms w/slots right in the San Francisco Bay Area. One that Arnold has approved, but which has some of the locals up in arms, will be in San Pablo with 2500 slot machines (down from the 5000 originally approved). There's two more groups I've heard of including one trying to build one near the Oakland airport (unlikely to get approved). With that many slots and little regulation, I hope they will add a strike machine or two. If they're successful, it may draw even more people away from Reno.
From all the responses to my question, it sounds like it may be tough for IGT to get a strike machine in every casino.
