James; Yes I was at the Palms show looking for Silver Strikes, and I too belong to the CC>CC club along with a local coin club, and the American Numismatic,but I'd not starting out of the blue gradeing chip's or coin's for others just because I belong to that Association.
And as a case in point while at that show a chip collector seller had a rare error in his words Silver Strike in pristene condition from the Gold Strike Bolder for sale at rock bottom price of $250. when I looked close you could see it had been cleaned, buffed,and damaged. When I told him his reply was he has always owened it, and know one had polished it, but you could see it looking close at it on both sides. Now should I take his grading or mine? Was his price fair or high? I wanted the Strike, but not in his condition. Then he told me he had sold another one just like it that morning for the same price all I could think of did the person see what they bought, and was it untuched or damaged like the one I almost bought?
That is what makes me worry about a none collector of Strikes gradeing them.
