Archie - First let me say I don't want to see Silver Strikes start getting slabbed. The other thing is none of the grading services would incure any large costs to make a slab for a strike, the one they use for the American Silver Eagles would work, I have seen a stike in a slab and the holder was from a silver eagle, also someone stated they would have to have hunderds or more to use as a guide, this is dead wrong, the grading services just make things up as they go and change when they have to, this has happened in the coin slabbing when they changed the standards for grading a few years back. I was around when PCGS started and the only thing I can say is it has driven the price of a slabbed coin up, for most people slabing isn't needed unlwess you are dealing with rare or error type material then I can see having a coin slabbed but I see no need for slabbing silver strikes, it would only raise the cost of stikes to collectors and only benift the grading companys by increasing there income.
