I'm very dismayed to read that slabbing silver strikes has even been thought of and introduced into this thread regarding airtite cases ... which is a perfectly acceptable alternative to replacing scratched or cracked original plastic strike cases.
Before anybody should pay any serious attention to Tokeneer's post ... all should realize that it would take a significant investment for the so-called 3rd party grading service (slabber) to tool-up and develop tamper proof cases to house silver strikes. One can not simply use something that has already been developed for a different size and shape and thickness for slabbing silver strikes. It would take a completely different set of specifications to manufacture slabs for strikes. If there is no demand for this product, you can bet that no one would want to make the intial tooking-up investment. What the slabbers have not yet fully realized is that there is little support for slabbing in our casino collectibles hobby as there is for sports cards and coins.
