I have had a couple of nice emails about my posts so I will provide the following info if you do not know How the Silver Strike program works! If I do not see that I am boring folks, I will continue to provide info as the weeks go on, from the "inside", about the Hobby and Gaming in general
AGAIN, WORD OF THE DAY IS RANDOMNESS!!!
1) Anchor does NOT get any portion of the machine's win. They make their money strictly on the strikes themselves....the more a casino orders, the more $$ they get. Anchor is also responsible for machine repairs. (keeps the slot techs happy)This is unusual since Anchor usually puts machines out on a revenue sharing basis!!
2)Anchor sells the casino 200 ten dollar strikes for $1600 instead of $2000. Usually the Accounting Department buys them and resells them to the casino for $2000. The $400 profit usually goes to G&A depending on the casino's structure.
The dual hopper design Patent is also held by Anchor if i remember correctly ( I have gotten out of the business the past year or so and memories are growing faint.....(TG)The business has stopped being fun after all these years and the greedy corporate giants that dominate it, are slowly killing it. They basically want the player to sit down, lose their $20 and get up...many have forgotten the entertainment value which is replaced by greed and a continuing reduction in customer service (Cost of the employee Like Car dealers, they do not have a view of repeat business and their disdain for the low level employee is translated into unfriendly employees. A casino views a TIP (Toke)as money they will never see again. If that tip $$ stays with the player, they have a shot at it again!!!
The worst thing a player can do to a casino with strikes is to cash them in. The Casino in turn can send them back to Anchor for full credit (At least t was that way when i got out.
Casinos are Lazy and have to be pushed into coming up with new designs (Anchor pays the production costs)....Look at the Silver Legacy for example.
One sure fire way to tell that you are being BS'd is when people refer to the Gaming Commission in Nevada. The REAL Power in Nevada is the Gaming Control Board.(GCB or NGCB) The board also approves any and all strike designs. Under most conditions, the commission just follows the board's recommendations!!
Hope you find this info useful...more to come!
