Ok I think we can all agree that the 750/777 strikes are not rare and never will be. Supply and demand is really what we are talking about here as the current supply available is low the price is high.
The O'Sheas blue christmas strike came out during the strike tournament with a minimum of 150 strike collectors at the casino and they won alot of the blue christmas strikes and thus the supply has been high from the start and the price lower ($50-$60 if you can call lower) as a result.
Reno blues are still in short supply and thus the price is still high. I had to win 55 strikes at the airport to win 5 blue strikes and still did not have a full set (Thank you Pat & George for the trade). The average cost for me was just under 17.00 per strike. I kept 8 sets of the commons for trade/sale to help defer my overall cost for the blue set. If I had cashed out all of the extra commons the 5 blues would have cost me $435.00, but with the trades/sales the 5 blue strikes will have cost me about $37.00 each. This is not taking into account the 12 hours of driving or the $60.00 in gas I also invested.
In the end it is up to each one of us to decide what we are willing to pay for a strike we want and that is what will determine the average value of these strikes. With 777 of them available in the end, you can find a set if you want it but who knows what it will cost. I bet it is higher than $30.00 per strike though.
