The screen name is followed by (private) but they do not appear in the bidding sequence for the item until the very last second the auction closes. In other words, the bid history does not show a person is bidding on the item against you until the very last second the auction closes, and then the anonymous bidder is displayed as winning the auction. I have tried to check the feedback of the person but it is unavailable and protected.
