Roger ... I also was displeased with the choice of words expressed by the earlier poster. I chose not to respond, as it would only have served to escalate into an area in which I was not willing to debate. I'm glad that you had responded to the post as I was beginning to think that perhaps I was the only one who thought that I was the one who was out of step. I too share your thoughts on the black vs. white issue. People have jobs to do, no matter how much or how little they are getting paid.
BTW: It was not the screeners fault on 9/11 that allowed the terrorists board the plane with their box-cutters. We now know that the terrorists did not board with a bomb. Bringing box-cutters on board an airplane back then was not prohibited. Nail clippers and nail files and even pen knives were not prohibited before 9/11 either as they are now; so the screeners did their jobs prior to 9/11 and they are doing their jobs presently under even more scruitiny. The screeners merely became the scapegoat for other security measure failings at the top of the chain. The fact that these screeners may only be receiving minimum wage and possibly "embarrasing" other more affluent folks by performing body scans is not the issue here.... at least not the way I view it.
