Norm, I couldn't agree more with you, both about Bill's book and about the value of all the different guides published. While I don't have them all, I do have five in total and find that I reference all of them for different reasons. Some are better for pictures. Others for informative notes about a particular design and its variations, or for pricing, checklists, non-Nevada strikes, or because it's just plain easy to carry around. The online catalog that Jim Moser put together and that other club members contributed to is very helpful as well, especially with pictures of the newer strikes and the unusual ones (Jim, hope we can justify this effort for the non-NV too). I know one guide has useful info on whether a strike is still in play, and Dave Ruffell's web site has historical info on when a strike first went into play.
When I think about the amount of work that must go into each of these, and the relatively small community of collectors who would actually buy these guides, I really appreciate the authors' dedication. Thanks to all.
