It was the common strike and listed as such. But I do agree, someone who knows something might have seen the picture and found it was the rare one listed at $9.99. Hey what a deal? I confess to being "strike stupid" I could have been wrong.
Roger advised me and I did the scan of the backside.
If I had something that was unusual, not an ordinary variety, you can be sure I'd scan that little puppy, large!
Thanks again for the advise Roger, point well taken.
I confess I was being lazy. (and no I wouldn't charge $3.50 for shipping, that's too much)
If I see a strike I'm looking for and it doesn't have the mint mark or the backside, I send an email. That's how I got the Stockmen's Elko with the .999 on the rim, not an "S" mint. Not much information in the listing, but the seller told me it wasn't an "S".
Imagine that, 11 strikes listed at $9.99 and two with no bids. Working from Norm's calculations (which I also agree with) any dang strike costs on average $13 to win.
Buyers market, hope the collectors are enjoying it. If the new strikes are different, we have the end of a design, so al the old ones should be attracting more interest.
