In this response I would like to address Chuckwagon's comments. A simple word search of all the posts on this board over the last two years nets the following hits in order of frequency.
Cohenour - 32
Anderson - 20
Becker - 14
Howdy - 6
Weaver - 4
I am responsible for most of the posts mentioning Art Becker's catalogues as a balance to the other messages concerning the above mentioned catalogues. Consider it counter hype or balance. Eliminate my support of Becker's catalogues and one see's where the hype truly lies.
I'm not sure why you keep stating Art Becker's catalogues are out of date. Becker's CD-ROM is updated quarterly and book nearly every month. We all see the approval lists many times with little or no new strikes. As for Cohenour's weekly update how much can be updated when two of the sources are catalogue authors which publish once or twice a year? The only thing which could be updated so frequently is the auction results. I sure hope Chuckwagon takes advantage of Cohenour's weekly updates with 52 catalogue puchases per year. Becker supports the interim releases with web site support which is free. Becker also offered a message base at no charge first which has been basically ignored due to moderation. It seems the hype and flaming are prefered.
Once again I'll close with there is nothing wrong with purchasing all strike catalogues for maximum intrepretation and basis for comparison. Each has it's own merits and vices.
