Dennis; Of course my thoughts about the silver strikers club going their own way might be looked upon as being biased, but since you've asked ... for whatever it's worth.

A huge show/convention, such as the one that CC & GTCC puts on each year, is much better than a smaller venue one in my opinion; for several reasons. It exposes literally hundreds of more people to silver strikes who normally wouldn't attend a silver strikes only show..., and as you have indicated, many table holders at CC & GTCC combine silver strikes with chips and other tokens in their inventory.

With the proliferation of smaller commercial shows being held around the country, it becomes very expensive for dealers and visitors alike to travel to these smaller attended shows. How many shows can one afford to attend each year if flying in? Most of the smaller shows (generally speaking) wind up to be local shows attended by nearby residents of the particular area the show is being held in and do not draw a large national attendance. When Brenda and I attend the annual show in Las Vegas, we stay for the entire week, as do many CC & GTCC conventioneers. I don't think we would do that for a two day smaller event such as you seem to be proposing.

What would be any added benefits of silver strikers having their own show that they don't now enjoy with the CCGTCC convention? Seems to me (speaking as CHSS-121) that we've got the best of both worlds now. It would appear that the SS club is doing just fine the way it has progressed to this point. Why mess around with success?
