The two strikes that are limited to fifty were put out by O’Shea's Casino during the first ever Silver Strike tournament held December first and second, 2001. They were limited by design. The top fifty finishers, out of 150 entrants, received one of the limited 50 strikes. The strikes were serialized and awarded based on where you finished, first place got number one, fifth place got number five, twenty first place got number twenty one and so on. The second limited 50 became known as the “Handpay”. O’Shea's set up a time when anyone playing on one of their slot machines got a jackpot which was big enough to require a hand pay by an attendant the person was paid by the attendant and part of the payment was the limited $10 strike. The fifty "Handpay" strikes were also serialized but were handed out in random order. All 50 “Handpay” strikes were gone in about two to three hours. People had theorized that they were going to be quite hard to win but just the opposite turned out to be true. I think the speed at which they were won surprised the casino also. Both strikes are very good looking strikes. The tournament strike looks very much like O’Shea’s $200 including gold plating. If memory serves me correctly it is the only $10 strike to have gold plating on it. The "Handpay” is a Christmas theme showing Santa’s sleigh and reindeer over a village crossing in front of the moon. Needless to say they are both expensive if and when you can find one for sale.
