When abc or jap or xyz with no email, come around and write abusive, nonsense messages, with nothing to do about collecting anything casino, especially strikes, a moderator could clear them out.

When some MLM or illegal chain letter scam (which this one was) arrives, it can be removed without wasting space for replies that the Spammer never views. These people never come back, they just write to every message board they can find, hoping to find some suckers.

If someone writes a message with a personal threat, or slander, it must be removed or the BB could possibly be subject to legal action.

There is a long list of reasons, aside from "censorship" that would be reasons why any topical BB should be moderated.
