Norm posted the following well-intentioned advice;

"There will be differences of opinion, I know. But the childish, attention-seeking behavior has gone too far. I ask each of you using the message boards to take the high road when it comes to these abusive posters. I don't believe in censorship, so I'm not taking the drastic measures I could to curtail this behavior. Instead, I'm leaving it up to you all. If there is a person on the message boards making cruel remarks toward you or another person, simply ignore them. I know this is a lesson we learned in grade school, but we could all use a refresher course sometimes. Feel free to lash out at me as much as you wish, but let that be it.

It is my humble opinion, that this message board is now completely out of control. The inmates are now running the assylum and have chased away many fine message board contributors of the past. The time has come to rid ourselves of some of the nonsense drivel that is largely responsible in having chased several posititve contributors to this board away. Such posts would be immediately deleted on the A.C. message board by the A.C. message board monitor and I would suggest the that same could be applied to thestrikepoint.com.

Like Norm ... I don't like censorship either. Contrary expressions of opinons and yes, even occassional arguments, are healthy in our free and open society and should be encouraged. However, some of these "childish, attention-seeking" posts as Norm has described them, do not express any legitimate opinions but are simply made to harass and disrupt and it is my opinion that they should be deleted.

Norm also invited those who disagree to "lash out at him as much as we wish". This post is not intended to be lashing out ... but merely making a public request to do something. "Leaving it up to you all" ... has never solved a problem, it only serves to have passed the buck.
