Make sure the silver cleaner is a liquid dip, and not the polish with the abrasive in it, which will give your strike a dulled look and decrease the collector's value. I've heard that the dip that Norm Clem recommends is good, though I've never tried it myself. I don't get the sense that most folks clean their strikes, except for maybe the really badly tarnished ones.
