Be assured that the annual CC & GTCC conventions have NOT been held every year in mid-June. I know this for fact since I was the Convention Chairman for the first convention back in 1993 which was held April 30 to May 1st and have attended every annual convention held by CC &
GTCC.

The 1998 convention at Orleans was held August 12-15. The 2001 convention date at Tropicana was May 30-June 1. The 2002 convention (again at Tropicana) was held June 5-8. None of these dates were "mid-June". If I get some spare time today, I will research the other convention dates and will post that information on the bb later this evening

I have no idea when next years dates or which hotel site will be chosen ... nor do I know who the 2005 Convention Chair will be. Those two items are usually announced at the upcoming convention.

Having said that, I'm fairly certain that the dates chosen for 2005 will surely be a date that the Convention Chairman is able to perform his or her duties and will not be based on when somebody else MAY or MAY NOT be able to attend. Future convention dates chosen will also be determined by what dates are available to us from the host hotel and what is the best package deal offered to the club in the way of expenses.
