My mother-in-law just told me she had purchased a strike from a shop in the Reno area that the shop said was an error, it seems she bought a strike made for the Peppermill that has the .999 on the rim and also has a center with .999 . The way she described the strike it has a new style center.
I told her it had been altered by somebody and couldn't have been made that way. I haven't had a chance to see the strike yet but it would seem that somebody is altering and selling strikes as errors.
