IGT can not bring these strike machines back into the country because of government regularions. Originally, they were licensed to Aqua Gaming in Florida which in turn shipped them to various Caribbean casinos. Due to a business dispute, Aqua Gaming can no longer obtain true silver strikes. Two years ago, Bill Brooks and I were shown an illegal strike at the Roger Williams Mint display at the Gaming Expo. We mentioned it to some IG personnel who knew zero about it. When we went back the next day, it was gone. Subsequently, I found a different Aruba strike on ebay, bearing two mint marks, RWM (Roger Williams Mint) and G (Global Minting). I learned from IGT and Global that Global had prepared the artwork but the strike had never made it to the die stage. I was able to obtain a few from the seller. One went to IGT and a second was purchased by Global. They each made contact with Aqua and Roger Willaims and production of those strikes reprtedly ceased. However, since the machines were still there and not able to be retrieved, the casino is using up the strikes remaining plus it has ordered same size holograms from Osborne mint. I made IGT aware of this a few months ago and they said it would be dealt with after the enw strike amchine went into play.
