Archie, I did not meaan to leave out the GT. Sorry about that. Ok so you thought GT stood for gaming tokens which is what a silver strike is. Silver strikes came out the first time in 1992. Not sure when the CC-GTCC was formed but I bet it was long before 1992. Therefor GT stands for Gaming Tokens. Such as slot tokens. Am I missing something here ?
You bet there will be dealers at the convention with silver strikes. They will have them and anything else that they hope to sell to anyone who has the dollars to spend. My local coin shop has silver strikes, sports cards, metal detectors and anything else he can earn a dollar on. Business is what that is. I do hope someone has some of the things I plan on looking for. Strike dealer or chip dealer no problem here. You got what I want and it is a fair price, we have a deal.
Yes, thank you to the strike collectors who do take the time to write and share the articles in the CC>CC magazine. Some of those collectors also write in our clubs newletter. And I thank everyone envloved in that.
And I too have made many friend in the silver strike hobby. Way to many to begin to count. I have spent many hours on line, on the phone and even at many of these friends homes. All great times and memories.
Yes it is just my opinion but I get zero from belonging to the CC>CC. I did belong but let my membership expire because "I" got nothing from belonging to that club. I can pay the few dollars to get into the convention on the days I want to attend and save the rest for a strike machine or to spend at a dealers table.
Happy collecting to all no matter what you collect,
