"As I am not a chip collector and see no reason to belong to the CC>CC for that reason."
Dennis; You left out the GT part of CC & GTCC.
GT stands for Gaming Token ... which is what I thought Silver Strikes are.
"So for my membership to a chip club and paying for a banquet once a year I get to sit with my fellow strikers. I will wait as I have done in the past and join my fellow strike collectors after the meeting."
"Chip Club???" I'm sure the many dealers who will be offering silver strikes for sale at their tables don't think that CC & GTCC is a "chip club".... nor do the many silver strike collectors who bring their strikes and cash to wheel and deal at the convention bourse and trade at the meeting rooms provided by CC &
GTCC. Where do you think your fellow silver strikers will be after the banquet? Hopefully at the CC & GTCC trading session where they will be trading silver strikes among other silver strike collectors.
"I see no valid reason to belong to a club that does me zero in return for my hobby."
Pretty negative opinion ... one that I would hope that the majority of silver strikers do not share. Seems to me that I've read a few articles in the current issue of the CC & GTCC magazine that were devoted to Silver Strikes ... thanks to those authors who took the time to submit them.
I've made many friends among silver strike collectors during previous CC & GTCC conventions and I certainly hope those friendships will continue and flourish in future years. I believe that CC & GTCC is much, much more than just a "chip club"... but you are entitled to your opinion.
