The ramifications to the silver strike by the new chip rules could be far reaching. Removing limited from the rim is one but in reality the word was meaningless. Limited to what? A million? Some strikes have had limited numbers and serial numbers placed on them. This could go. However the casinos could use the colored capsules for special issues and "leak" or publicly publish the number of an issue even though the number of issue would not be placed on the strike. The silver strike could become NCV thus removing it from gaming control. In a way this would allow designs without approval. Nude strikes? One never knows.
All in all this could represent the largest major change since the .999 silver marking was forced from the rim on to the silver center. This may define an entire new series of strikes.
I don't think it is a matter of if but when. At some point strikes will be scrutinized by the authorities. It may come from a complaint or just looking into it as a carry over of the chip ruling.
One thing has always puzzled me. Strikes are redeemable but not playable. Are they a true token or cheque? The authorities could put the nix on the redeemable strike because of this factor. The casinos could allow table play with them ending this problem.
