Just back from a one day trip to Las Vegas and here's what I found out:

Las Vegas Club. Freddie Maatouk told me tht they will shut the machines down Monday and resume with new strikes on March 25. The Olympic setries is gone. There will be only 4 out of 6 logo series with the current logo. The new Barrick logo will have all six. The Jackie Gaughan 200 will finish out with what si currently on hand (I think Freddie said #263) and on 3/25, he expects his new $200 with the Silver Strike Machine, as depicted on the Tournament $40. I forgot to ask if they were taking any of the old strikes in exchange. Also, sad to sat, Emily Fitzsimmons, Freddie's assistant, is off on extended medical leave.

Silverton new set of six went into play yesterday at the two machines (RV Park and next to the terrific coffee shop. I stopped for lunch on my way home and the display box had been changed but the machine was dark. I asked and got nowhere so I headed to the cage and met Susan, the slot mananger, who was carrying a rack of strikes. I asked her if she was filling the macjine and she said these were the old strikes but if I wanted, she would get someone to fill the machine. I thought a while and said "Okay" so they did. Machine was good to meajnd I have lots of traders. and I'll bring some to Casinorama on Saturday. The strike they call Minuteman is very nice looking.

I asked her to post here so the word would get out and she told me later that the slot director had done so. But I haven't seen it.

On another unhappy note, I visited Steve Zacchi in the hospital. He is still having troubles, so remember him, Linda and the kids in your prayers. Since December 20, 2004, he's only been out of the hospital for about two weeks.
