It is money but not insufficient play.
See Jack Haddock's post about the Nugget for their stated reasons. I summarize: p****d off. They must have been getting sufficient play because they had ordered more of their current $200,Perfect Then, Perfect Now, but the order was canceled and they also tried to order a brand new $200 that IGT wouldn't produce for whatever reason. So, they took the machine out because they couldn't get enough of the strikes they wanted.
Gold Coast did it for money too. But that's because every other machine on their floor is now ticket in, ticket out, so the strike machine was no longer compatible. Can't have a weed among the flowers. It would be too costly and inefficient to have a single machine requiring attention and fills from a smaller staff. No more bags of quarters for the Gold Coast.
But there is hope, the new machine is coming and it ts reportedly ticket in ticket out, so the only fill will be the 500 plus strikes in the upper chamber. Our stooges can play forever without waiting for those annoying fills every couple of hours.
