Pete. I had someone else read it to me. I am not defending shill bidding and never have. Once again you read and see only what you want read and see. All I am saying is that there isn’t any state or Federal laws against shill bidding. Most or all auctions sites have rules prohibiting shill bidding.

There have been some arguments written by some brilliant people, yet all the cases and arguments that I have read not one has stated any law State or Federal which states shill bidding is illegal, although they claim there to be such laws. Not one time in cases that I have read have they stated that shill bidding is mail or wire fraud.

Auctions have been around for years yet the only known successful prosecution had to do with forged documents and fake paintings. Those cases would have been won under the mail and wire fraud acts even if there had been no shill bidding.

I know that the majority of readers feel like you do and it would be easy for me to take a stance that shill bidding is fraud but it is not in me to take a stance just because it is the popular decision. The truth is the truth.

I say leave it to the auction sites to handle their own shill bidding problems.
