I agree that a large part of the problem is maintenence. Most of the machines on the discontinued list were placed in high traffic areas far from the cage. Frequent jamming caused a large increase in employee time. Employees complain & their bosses listen when it involves time spent away from making change, paying jackpots & filling machines. These are not idle people on a casino floor...they are always busy. You want a successful program get a machine that works well...4 Queens, Imperial Palace, Bally's, LV Club, Slots-a Fun, California. If this theory is correct..look for the Plaza Twin Towers machine, The Machines at Paris & O'sheas, Orleans and Frontier to be next on the list. The Machines at Mandalay Bay & Luxor already went this route. One of the machines at the Palms is already starting to be a problem and the frequent problem machines at Stratosphere are being fazed out. Just my opinion...
