I was in Las Vegas earlier this week and learned a few bits and pieces some may find interesting.
The strikers' friend, Mark Karoll, told me the next $200 will be 200 pieces and the current $10 strikes will be accepted for the next 200. There will be a new plan for distribution which should eliminate the difficulties encountered for the Christmas issue. Expected distribution is about five weeks away.He also said there were about 13 or 14 King of Spades blue caps remaining. The next blue cap will be the Ace of Spades. (An "Ace Chaser"? That sounds a little on the risque aside to me.)
At Slots A Fun, almost three racks of pink capsules remain. There are new 10s and a new 200 in design stage and they aren't that far off because the artwork has been approved by Gaming Control. Clint is awaiting the dies so samples can be struck and shipped off to Gaming for final approval. The current $200 is up to number 113 in distribution.
New Frontier is still grappling with distributing the new 200s. Apparently each cashier buys a couple for his/her bank. That means numeric distribution can be a crap shoot. When I checked, one cashier had number 12, another had #27 and #33. They couldn't tell me how many had been issued out of the original order of 50.
On a personal note, Linda and I checked on the new house "progress". No ground has yet been broken, so the move is at least six months away.
