Not hardly Christine ... just stating facts as they applied to me. Others have different viewpoints regarding why they do, what they do, and when they do it. I was only looking for one $200 strike and was happy that I got one for my collection, even though it took me 8 hours of standing in line to get it. I could have had my wife, Brenda, also sign up at 11 p.m. and she would have been #63 ... which would have shut out another late-comer after 2:30 a.m. ... even though she didn't have the twenty $10 strikes to trade in at the time. I'm sure that she could have made "arrangements" with one of the "latecomers" to take her place for a fee. Lots of that going on as well; which I'm sure you know all about.
No, I'm not about to leave the hobby as you have suggested. Sorry that you misinterpreted my meant-to-be informative post. But I can see where there may be a limited $200 release or two in the near future where some folks might be lining up as early as 24 hours before the pre-announced release time. I don't have any answers for that scenario should it become a reality, but I'm sure we will be reading all about it on this message board after it happens.
