Re: Norm is OK grin
In Response To: Re: Norm is a big... grin ()

We have been tossing the numbers around and I put up the challenge, Norm stood behind his words.

Every strike I sent off should be just fine and some maybe "good ones" to sell or trade. I don't have a book on strikes, so I just picked 20 that I could part with. No duplicates.

Norm is sending me one of the strikes that people have protrayed as too many made, nobody wants them. That's just fine, because I thought a $200 strike would be fun and takes up less space than 20 of the $10 strikes.

Here's the simple conclusion from my side. It costs the same to win 20 strikes and trade them in for one $200 strike, or keep them.

According to people who play much more than I do, about $280 cost. Although I might be able to auction them for $220 to $280. (I lean towards the lower end) Then there are the auction fees, shipping, packing, time... I can sell the one $200 strike for $230 and get my money back, quick and easy.

I'll be especially interested in comments from local friends when I show them a $200 strike in my collection and they know how "frugal" I am. vbg
The same people who think it's strange that I collect chips, ashtrays, and casino postcards.

I've decimated my collection again, so I'll start saving for the next time someone wants to trade 20 old strikes for a newer $200. I like the easy storage facet of the big strikes.
