Bill, the "gold" rim is solid brass (highly polished) The silver strikes we collect come from a special slot machine. They are not used in any other slot machine. They may be redeemed at the cashier's cage for Ten dollars or collected in 'Sets'. There are also $7, $20, $28, $40, and $200 Silver strikes out there. Some of the old timers, chippers, ect called any old silver coin a silver strike if it was pure silver. They could be just silver rounds or they could have been five,ten,or twenty-five dollar gaming tokens that were used in the other slot machines. The tokens we collect are in plastic capsules when they come from the machine and are kept that way and not handled. Hope this helps.
