“Advertising public auctions are legal and permitted on this board. Pass it on.”
>When I was a Union steward I learned what the difference was between being legally correct and morally correct. You can be legally correct in doing something yet morally wrong in doing so.
The converse can also be true. You can be morally correct and legally wrong. I happen to think linking auctions are both legal and morally correct. Accuasations are constantly made that my posts are in some way illegal. It seems you agree they are not. As for either issue the moderator has failed to give me the boot or a warning or a cease and desist comment so I'll rely on Greg's judgement that my links do not fit into either category.
“There are many strike seekers that find improperly listed auctions as you do. “
>You seem to have a lot of intelligence and yet little common sense. You point out these hidden auctions that some collectors are able to find and maybe get them at a bargain price. I have noticed that once you post them on the BB they mostly bring market value or higher. I think you would be helping the hobby more by allowing some of the “many strike seekers” to get these at a bargain price rather than the money going to a seller who doesn’t know enough or care enough to place his item in the proper category.
The novice strike seekers tend not to find the auctions at all. Instead a limited number of experienced bidders find them and resell the strikes at market value. Even if purchased at a higher price the new bidders at least have the opportunity to bid on an item that could be long gone. At worst a wash. Using your logic you should hid all your auctions and never post a link. After all is this not costing people more money through exposure?
“If you were nice instead of Mr. Nasty I may refrain from posting any auctions in which you are involved.” On the other hand would this be fair to other bidders?”
> If a dog is barking and unfriendly toward you wouldn’t it be better to do something to try to get along with that dog rather than beating it with a stick and telling the dog “Now you be nice to me and I won’t beat you with the stick anymore.” I think if you took the fisrt step and refrained from posting auctions in which he is involved he would have little reason to "bark" at you and I certainly would have to side with you if he did.
I have never started anything with anyone. It is abusive replies to my posts that are the barking dog. Why should auctions bid on by a particular individual be avoided yet others posted? I thought I covered this point. A barking dog should learn not to bark at nothing. If not on his own so trained.
> As far as being “fair to other bidders.” When did it become your responsibility to bring auctions to their attention?
When did it become anyone's "responsibility" to offer anything for sale or trade or any post at all? It's a hobby board and the purpose of it is to provide information. I have a talent for searching so it's my way of contributing.

Mine too.
