Aside from the blue/yellow/pink holders, I don't think anyone cares if the strike is traded/sold w/an original holder or not, as long as there has been some case to protect the strike itself. In fact, when certain sellers advertise their strikes on the auction sites, they make a special point of saying they have replaced the holder with an airtight. And I myself have been pleasantly surprised by people who ship me strikes I won at auction in brand new airtights. They show off the strike much better than the typical scratched up original holders.
