While I agree mostly, the only point that I really agree with is learning the language.
My Grandparents were imagrants (in theory all of us were?) But they came from Transylvania and Italy. They spoke their native language at home, but learned English and their children learned English.
I used to mock the French in Quebec, maybe they have it right? Signs that must be larger in French and 1/3 smaller in English, or they pay a fine.
Tollerance is fine. Helpful is fine, acceptance is wondeful, but the language of the country is English.
It's similar to inviting a guest into your home, where you remove your shoes and don't allow smoking. They decide to come in with work boots and smoke a cigar.
A guest should learn the rules and become a part of the acceptance, by doing their part to join in and become a member of the community.
The other option is I could become multi-lingual so I could understand another three languages?
No hatred, just a wish for new people to come and become a part, instead of a seperate unit. Talk about segregation, different language only promotes seperation and is brought on by the people who oppose discrimination. They are working against their own best interest.
