You may not really need the detail on strikes as much as chips. I bought a 4 megapixel w/macro (7") and super macro mode (1") and I get great pictures. Took a bit to learn though; I guess I am still learning! Electronic transfer is quick. Use a free editing program.

Also - great for vacations, unlike the scanner ;-)

Wal-Mart prints 4 x 6 for 25 cents so I don't have to invest in a printer for family type stuff and you can ditch what you don't like without wasting film..
