Dear VP, although you have good intentions, there are others who don't read the BB and may not belong to a club, or even know there is a club.
I don't think someone should have to buy back, what is rightfully theirs.
Hopefully the police will get onto this and go recover the rest of the collection. Finding the error being sold by one of the local dealers is some sort of evidence. Anything distinctive should point the finger at the sellers (original thieves) and the coin dealer should be charged with receiving stolen property if he doesn't have a record of the seller, with drivers license or ID, on file.
Of course your state may not require that, but just about everyplace I've been does.
The police should be all over this, finding the same people selling to coin dealers all over town...
