It seems that you were one of the very few who were unable to get to play the machine. And it was certainly the worst time of year for machine play for collectors. I think the casinos did their part in making the machines available to all players.

I think it all boils down to you being too lazy to make any effort to find out what was going on at the time. One of the great qualities of speech is the capability to ask questions. If you had done this you would certainly have gotten on the machine.
