Your quest for the truth is admirable, but it's too late.
This unconfirmed rumor has already shown up in jackfraud auctions, touted as absolute truth! It takes no time at all for a silver strike RUMOR to be accepted as FACT, especially by those who stand to make a profit from it.
Unless the quantity is printed on the strike itself, there is usually no way to tell the mintage. As any knowledgeable collector (not to mention the greedy speculators) knows, Anchor/IGT won't disclose mintages, the mints won't tell, and the average casino employees are notoriously unreliable as a source of any information (ask any 5 of them, and you'll likely get 5 different answers).
As we all know, the truth is of little interest to the greedy speculators, professional new issue sellers, and other hucksters, out to make a buck. They will say, or do, anything it takes, to make a profit, or to create a market where there wasn't one before.
