I think you have missed my point, Walt. And I am not arguing with you on anything. We all base our price, cost and value on what we have in a Strike, obviously. My point was that the line of $$ fluctuation was out of sync with what we DO know about certain strikes, i.e. the 4 in 1s from Caesar's Tahoe. I had no problem paying $80 for one at the Convention and thought I got a good price, but many were on tables at $150. Some strikes do "walk," but I would bet very few of the Chasers "walk," and we DO know that 1,750 is a common order amount for normal strikes as it covers the cost of the Dies...otherwise the Casinos pay more money. I also think, at $98.50 or whatever, your friend did very well for his money and should not have complained. What I am saying...and not critically...is that our haobby is subject to inflation on items that do not deserve it, but as collectors we are fickle and cannot help ourselves. The term collector alone, indicates behavior that includes greed and anxiety, and this is what many sellers are able to capitalize on, myself included.
