Re: Silver Is over $16.00 oz today. Wow

I don't have a dog in this fight ... but the fact remains, that when one loses interest in their hobby (any hobby) it's nice to know that in THIS hobby that our treasures have some intrinsic value. A bowler will have a tough time selling his/her bowling shoes, bowling ball and bag, league trophies, old score sheets, etc. Same story goes for a major league sports enthusiast. Who wants his old admission tickets, parking receipts, programs, score cards, etc.?

Ideally, a silver strike collector can find another collector to sell his no longer wanted strikes to. When that fails, there are only a couple of alternatives. Leave the entire collection behind for your heirs to worry about disposing (chances are they will dump them) ... or dump them yourself and enjoy whatever financial rewards are forthcoming after you have received all the years of enjoyment and personal satisfaction and friendships made as a silver strike collector. Someone once said that we never really own the things we collect. We are just temporary custodians. Somewhere along the line, eventually, someone else is going to own them... and it may very well be that coin dealer down the road who is going to melt them for silver value ... like old family heirlooms before them.
