Mike - Why would it seem to upset you or anybody else about what Dennis did ? There are several collectors that are selling strikes for the melt value of the silver, if folks would buy the strikes when offered for face (which doesn't seem to be the case ) then strikes wouldn't get sold for scrap value.
I have about 20 right know that will go for scrap in the next week or so, let me know if you want them for face value plus shipping.
