Congratulations to the winners of the CC&GTCC's 2002 SSOTY Awards.

1st Place (Gold) went to the Palms $200 "United We Stand".

2nd Place (Silver) went to Caesars Palace $40 Winged Victoty.

3rd Place (Bronze) went to The Plaza $10 Twin Towers.

The Silver and Bronze awards are yet to be handed out, however the Gold Award was given to Mr. Don Hallmark, Director of Slot Operations, Palms Casino Resort at the Convention Banquet.

Also accepting an award for the 1st Place victory was Ms. Donna Killman, Silver Strike Program Coordinator, IGT. Ms. Killman also accepted the award for Sunshine Mint, which was unable to send a representative. The Palms, "United We Stand" strikes were struck by Sunshine Mint under the Silver Strike Program adminstered by IGT.

I congratulate all the winners and say thank you to the representatives that attended the Banquet to accept the awards on behalf of their organizations.

I would also like to thank Ms. Christie Gregory for posting scans of all of the eligible 2002 strikes to the Unofficial SSOTY Viewing Site. It is my hope, that after Christie and her scanner have had a rest, that they can do the same for the 2003 eligible candidates, as the Unofficial 2003 site is already up. However, everyone is welcome to post scans there and perhaps help keep Christie from hurting her scanner.

I would also like to thank IGT for making an advertisement donation to the Judge's Pamphlet. Their lone donation offset a great deal the printing costs of the pamphlet!

I have already posted my appreciation and thanks to Mr. Dennis Finn, but I doubt that I can say enough about his help! Nor can I express my gratitude for the fact that so many Silver Striker's Chapter members took the time to make nominations and then vote in the awards program.

Lastly, I want to thank Mr. Norm Clem (Jackpot Auctions) for making a significant and meaningful donation to the Club's Permanent Collection of past OTY winners. Mr. Clem, in conjunction with Jackpot Auctions, has donated the winning Palms strike to the Permanent Collection! Thank you Norm!
