I suggest we all bring lots and lots of money and a large helping of patience to the convention. Here's what we can expect to play for come convention time:
Plaza: two series, one with seven strikes, the other with three (plus the convention strike) and hopefully two new and different $200s, one for each series. I know the series of three is patriotic and that $200 is the Twin Towers.
Las Vegas Club: Freddie is anticipating one of his two machines will have the winter games 6-10 and the other will have 11-15. Each will have SS Chapter convention strikes.
El Cortez: They are readying a new series of three tens and a new $200 if there are no snags in the process.
The Palms: I was told yesterday by a Palms employee that there will be two different $200s. Actually, it is the same design with different plating schemes. Palms will also have a new set of three tens and both and Chapter strikes.
Probably it would be wise to bring lunch and a catheter. That is a total of four or five 200s(depending on one's preference for plating differences) which means 80-100 turn-in strikes. If a collector already has Las Vegas Club 6-10, there will be 21 new $10 strikes plus five and Chapter blue caps, with most of us playing for the limit the casino will allow. One of each new strike is a minimum face value of $1060 up to $1310. This doesn't take into consideration anything at the Four Queens, if there are any 200s left, if the xollector needs the chaser, the new set of four currently in play or the next chaser arriving. Better hope fot no protracted dry spells.
The big question, of course, is what will Christie do? Will she be sighted at any machine? Next, will Norm have enough slot club points to own a casino? Or will he use the points to buy the Chapter members dinner at Hugo's Cellar? Better be there to see for yourself.
