Dennis-Your message was well said and most informative however I was most pained to hear that the production of the $200's is being limited to just 50 per design. I couldn't agree more, reeks of greed, pure and simple. Given the amount of money we all have to spend to just try for the $200 in play let alone the time spent waiting for play time are factors to consider now we have to deal with major limitations. I am not flying 3000 miles to spend the majority of my time standing around waiting for a strike machine. Of course we won't even go into the issue of chasing a "1 per hopper fill blue cap" chaser strike, that speaks for itself.
On the issue of reverse plating from SOF, I am with you on that one 100%. Have no, zero, nada intention of buying/playing for a reverse plated $200 design. Personally could care less and it just tells me the casino is too lazy to put a new design into play. I plan to review most carefully my play plans for convention time next month and while initially I had planned heavy play time at the Queens I suspect I will now take my business to other casinos that have pieces I want. If anyone from the Queens reads this post, note...I am bringing a multi thousand dollar gambling budget to Vegas in June and you will see none of it!! There are still a few locations that have current $200's in play that are not under major production limites and those casinos will see my business.
John's comment about the convention not having the thrill this year hits home loud and clear. The message I am getting is almost "just send us your money, that's all we care about, to hell with the collecting aspect of the hobby". While I'm not naive enough to think a casino is in business for any other reason than to make money for it's shareholders there is a line between making a profit and being a robber barron and it sure sounds like the management at Queens has crossed this line.
