Truth is, I am closing on a new house Thursday and by new, I mean "new". No refrigerator, no landscaping, no window coverings... It has taken 2 years and 8 realtors to find me a home... so I made them an offer they couldn't refuse. So they didn't (refuse) - and here I am... remembering the "two kinds of broke".
When I was 19, I was "the kind of broke" where ya ain't got no money. Broke-broke Eventually - I grew up a little and have been grateful to realize when we have the security of knowing we're usually just "the second kind of broke" (that's when "Ya just ain't got money for THAT."
And foolish me... I told the bank they could have a whole buncha money - and dangit - they're gonna take it. (can I have the house AND keep my money?)
And what the bank don't get, between the local merchants and Home Depot, I expect they'll just finish me off.
Only I'm not 19 anymore... and here I am... feeling that " first kind of broke".
I need grass, shrubs, rock, trees, sprinkler system, 13 more feet of fence (my dog's name is Cruiser for a reason! ), garage door opener, concrete (YIKES! OUCH!!), mini-blinds, a refrigerator, a UHaul.. NOT TO MENTION - GAS if I still plan to drive my Jeep to the convention.
SOOOOOO... BEFORE I'm "BROKE-broke", I thought the best way to counter some of the overwhelming, unrealistic pressing demands for "money out" - is to generate some extra "money in". With whatever Ihave that's worth money...
Heck - with all the stuff I need... I bet I could blow all our paychecks and savings in one good trip to Wal_mart!
So - maybe I'll sell my strikes (69+) or my Colorado chips (112) or MN chips (48) or my roulettes (1000+), AC (68), brass cores ($1000+), C&S ($200), Illegals and UFCS (100+), or - Nevada (1000+). Any or all of those can "fund a project" (and as a bonus, save some bucks if I don't need a book!
But thanks for your concern Jim That's very sweet... really it is! Thank you for even caring...
And with that - gotta run now! If anyone needs me... I'll be down on the corner holding a sign:
