I am by no means an expert, but here's my 2 cents worth. JP's Corner is a very good site to purchase strike items. They're always quick to deliver and have resonable prices.

As I know it, there are two types of AIR TITE capsules - Direct Fit and the slightly larger one with the ring. The Direct Fit is just that; it is similar to the original strike capsules except there isn't a slit in the capsule for easy opening. The capsule is just big enough for the strike to fit into, and since it is completely enclosed, it is air tight which will reduce the potential for tarnish. Of course, you must not handle the strike with your hands because natural oil will get on the strike and tarnish even in an AIR TITE capsule. The slightly larger capsule with the ring also forms an air tight fit. The strike fits snugly inside the foam ring. Some people like the look of the strike with the ring (which comes in black or white). I happen to like the 'ringed' AIR TITE capsules because I think it makes the strike more distictive looking. It's really a personal preference as to how you want to store and/or display your strikes.
