Pete, you’re a moving target. I talked about human rights atrocities and you switched it to violation of human rights, there is a VERY BIG difference between the two.
ATROCITIES: Extremely wicked, brutal, cruel, barbaric, appalling, horrifying…
VIOLATION: Infringement of the rules, interruption, disturbance….
The second switch you pulled was to introduce the term “Arab Muslims”. Nowhere in this chain has anyone used that term prior to you. The only term that has been used here is terrorist. I stand by the fact that all the acts I reference in my post were terrorist acts…. NOW, the fact that the groups who claimed responsibility also claimed to be Arabs and of the Muslim faith are just a coincidence.
I think we may have just uncovered what is really bothering you… Your interpretation of what the Non-Arab Non-Muslim American thinks about Arab Muslims. I get the feeling that you feel personally insulted or attacked if in any conversation concerning this topic one interjects that they feel the perpetrators are Arab Muslims. You have determined that everyone is accusing the Arab Muslims as being the terrorist. NOT THE CASE, you are the only one who has alluded to that fact.
I do think that most people have a hard time separating the two identities: terrorist and Arab Muslim. There may be many reasons for this but I think the two main reasons are; #1. Most all of the terrorist who we see or hear of are of Arab decent and they claim to be Muslims. (In recent history I can only think of two who do not fit that mold, John Walker and Timothy McVeigh. Our nation took action to stop both of them) #2. None of the Arab Muslim leaders (political or religious) will publicly denounce the acts of terrorism committed by the terrorist. Their silence is taken as an endorsement of the terrorist acts. I feel that many if not most of the Arab Muslims do not agree with the terrorist acts but again their silence is taken as an endorsement of the terrorist acts.
Last but not least, FOLLOW THE MONEY TRAIL. It has been proven that the money to support the terrorist activities is coming from the Middle East Arab countries with Iraq being the top or very close to the top money supplier or one who funnels the money through the Saddam Regime. The sad part about it is that I feel a large portion of the money was raised here in the United States under the disguise of support for the poor in the Middle East but once the funds were sent to the Middle East they were diverted to support terrorist activities.
No one has said Iraq is the only bad apple there are many more, the Saddam Regime just happens to be one of the most rotten. That is why we started there… remember the war is not over till all terrorism has been eradicated.
AND I DO NOT BELIEVE ALL ARAB MUSLIMS ARE TERRORIST.
As I said before… WAKE UP PETE
