Jim; The
rules are that no selling is permitted at the trade sessions, which are conducted in a separate room off the bourse floor. This rule has been in effect for many years now to protect dealers who have paid for their bourse tables to buy, sell and trade. If someone who does not have a table wants to sell strikes at the
conventnion ... the place to do that is on the convention bourse floor with a dealer ... not at the trade sessions. Have some people abused this rule in the past? Yes they have ... and when it has been brought to the attention of club officials, the club has dealt with each situation on an individual basis. A warning could be issued, or the offending party may be asked to leave the room. Ditto on sales in hallways, restrooms, etc. If someone wants to sell items off the bourse floor, the best place to do it is in their hotel room ... over a cup of coffee in the restaurant ... or off the premises. Having said that ... on uneven trade values ... there is nothing wrong with offering multiple common silver strikes in trade for one of a higher value.
